Tonight at 8pm, the New York Knicks (aka the good guys) take on the Boston Celtics (the bad guys) at the TD Garden in Boston. This is the first game between the teams since the Carmelo-Garnett incident that resulted in Melo being suspended for a game – you know when KG allegedly said Melo’s wife tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios. So you better believe both teams will be up for this game.
In the last match-up, Rondo was out because of a one game suspension, and he always seems to have big games against the Knicks, so it will be important to keep him in check. Luckily, the return of Iman Shumpert brings an elite defender back into the lineup, and he could be helpful to slow Rondo if he gets off to a fast start.
The dynamic between Melo and Garnett will be interesting to watch to say the least, and I expect a big game from both. However, when Melo is on, as I think he will be, he is arguably the best pure scorer in the game.
In the end, I think the recent return of Shumpert and Melo’s extra motivation will prove to be too much for the C’s.
